AUSTANGO FESTIVAL 2006 featuring the 2nd Western Australian Tango Championship to enter World Tango Dance Championship!
The AUSTANGO FESTIVAL 2006, to be held in Perth from Thursday June 1st - Sunday June 4th, will bring 4 days and nights full of tango, and will feature the WA preliminary for Australia's participation in World Tango Championship.
A great deal of activities will be on offer, including workshops, master classes, concerts and milongas with the great masters. So whether you are a tango dancer or enjoy being part of an audience, there is something for everybody.
The festival will host two major events.
- The Glamour Ball on Saturday June 3rd, 8pm-1pm, at 99 the Boulevard Floreat, will feature direct from Argentina, World Tango Champions Gisela Galeassi and Gaspar Godoy and Australian Tango Champions 2005 Fabio Robles and Ana Andre direct from Melbourne.
Gisela Galeassi and Gaspar Godoy will be judging the competition and performing in the Festival.
- Following Glamour Ball, II WA Tango Dance Championship WA finals will be held on Sunday June 4th, 6 – 11pm, and will feature the and floorshows by highly-acclaimed tango dancers from Argentina and Melbourne. Both events include champagne and supper.
The II World Tango Dance Championship competition will discover the finest tango dancers, the winners of which will receive air tickets and accommodation to compete in the National Finals at The Sydney Opera House, July 12th.
We invite every tango dancer in Perth to compete, or anybody who is interested to come and watch the fantastic shows.
Tango is an international growing phenomenon all over the world, and the Austango Festival will bring the intense passion and incredible skill of the authentic Argentinean tango to Perth.
